This is the final opinion of class 4 (year 5, 9-10 year old) after studying the achievements and flaws of six Roman emperors during the past weeks.

The main goal of this topic was to let my students form an opinion about the question 'What makes an emperor good?' and let them judge the legacy of these six Roman emperors on a basic level. I purposely picked some emperors that are widely considered good and bad to make differences clear and added an emperor like Diocletian who is more controversial.

Pretty happy with the results! I heard some good arguments from students to support their choices. For example, some argued that Augustus should be lower as he ended the republic, while others said Diocletian should be higher as he made important reforms.
