Jaipur (India)

These photos are taken in Jaipur, India. I went there in 2015 while studying in Pune. Jaipur, together with Agra and Delhi, is part of the Golden Triangle: India's most famous travel route.

Jaipur isn't that old compared to the other two cities. It was founded in 1727 by Maharaj Jai Singh II who wanted to construct a brilliant new city to serve as the new capital of his state. The city was planned very well using modern techniques, architecture and science.

The nickname of Jaipur is 'The Pink City' as the whole city was painted pink (the color of hospitality) in 1876 to welcome Prince Albert, Queen Victoria's husband. I hope Albert liked it!
